High Security Standard UL634 Level 1 vs. Level 2 / ICD 705 replaces DCID 6/9
In the 9th edition of UL634 (Oct. 2007) the old BMS high security standard for contacts was changed, and devices meeting this standard (pre-9th edition) were "grandfathered" to a new standard called Level 1 High Security. At the same time a new category, Level 2 High Security was created to provide more stringent security and performance requirements for HSS (High Security Sensors) used for SCIF, safes, vaults and other high level secure installations. In 2010-11 the Office of the Director on National Intelligence published new Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705, which replaced the 20 year old DCID 6/9 relating to physical security of IDS systems for SCIF application.
